History

The chapel in Bodzów, at Bodzowska Street 7, was built in 1637, funded by Father Wojciech Purzecki, a canon of the Collegiate Church of All Saints in Kraków. Inside, frescoes showing Bodzów as it was then have survived. There is also a Renaissance altar of St Dorothy from around 1540, which was brought here from Wawel Cathedral. In the 1970s a porch was added to the building.

The altar of St Dorothy was funded by Jan Andrzej de Valentinis of Modena - physician to Queen Bona, Grand Secretary of the Crown, and a canon of Kraków and Sandomierz.
