Churches of Kraków

Church (Roman Catholic), Prądnik Biały district.

History

The church on Pasteura Street in Prądnik Biały is one of Kraków's younger churches. The parish was established on 1 January 1983, carved out of the Holy Cross parish, and the church was built in 1986-1988. Its first parish priest and builder was Fr Adam Sroka. Cardinal Franciszek Macharski consecrated it on 11 November 1998.

The church gradually acquired its furnishings. In 2013, also on 11 November, a new pipe organ was put into use, and in 2014 the church received eight bells, which were installed in the tower at the beginning of 2015. The parish also includes a parish cemetery, known as the Białoprądnicki Cemetery, at the junction of Żwirowa and Piaszczysta Streets. The Chapel of Our Lady of Mercy in this cemetery was blessed on 8 April 2006 by Bishop Jan Szkodoń.
