History
The parish in what was then the village of Wróblowice near Kraków was established in 1845. A presbytery was built in 1852, and services were at first held in a wooden chapel with a painting of the Transfiguration above its high altar. On the initiative of the parish priest, Father Maciej Wieczorek, construction of a brick church began, and he was helped by the owner of Wrząsowice, Baron Henryk Konopka.
The post-Baroque church was built on the site of the old chapel in 1875-1881. It was consecrated on 7 August 1881 by Bishop Albin Dunajewski. In 1882 the high altar was completed to a design by Romuald Łapczyński. At the beginning of the 20th century hand-made Stations of the Cross were installed in the church. The church underwent its biggest renovations in 1989 and 1993.
Today it is the historic parish church of Wróblowice, in the Swoszowice district, served by diocesan priests. The parish includes Wróblowice, Wrząsowice and Ochojno, as well as parts of Kurdwanów and Zbydniowice.
