An Austrian First World War cemetery (Łagiewniki-Borek Fałęcki district), next to the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy. In 1914-1918 the Austro-Hungarian army set up an epidemic hospital in the buildings of the nearby convent, and soldiers who died there were buried here. The cemetery holds 266 soldiers of fifteen nationalities. Hans Mayr's design survives almost only in the entrance gate, and since 2015 the cemetery has been reconstructed to its original plan.

History

War cemetery no. 384 lies next to the Divine Mercy Sanctuary in Łagiewniki. From 1889 the convent of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy operated in the village. During the First World War the Austro-Hungarian army set up a military hospital for infectious diseases in the convent's farm buildings. It operated from August 1914 to December 1918. About 200 m south-east of the convent a cemetery was established for soldiers who died in this hospital. 266 soldiers of fifteen nationalities rest here. It was designed by Hans Mayr, but almost nothing but the entrance gate has survived from his plan. The grave plots were levelled, and the small monument is modern. In 2015 work began to reconstruct the cemetery according to the original design.
