History

War Cemetery No. 390 is a small plot in the eastern part of the parish cemetery in Mogiła, on the Wandy estate in Nowa Huta. It holds the graves of 71 Austrian soldiers from many units. Twenty-three fell on 14 September 1914, and 48 were killed on 2 August 1917 in an ammunition explosion at a nearby fort. The cemetery was designed by Hans Mayr. What survives of his plan is the central cross-shaped monument, covered by a small roof of red plain tiles. In 2013-2017 the cemetery was restored.

The cemetery was originally fenced, and the corner posts were topped with sculptures of a soldier's cap lying on a wreath. This motif is typical of the Kraków Fortress district.
