History
Włodzimierz Tetmajer River Park covers 13.13 ha and lies in Bronowice Małe, on the city's border with Rząska. The idea of turning a neglected wasteland into a park was put forward in 2015 by the Society of Friends of Bronowice and district councillors. The concept was presented in September 2018, and work began at the start of 2023, the Year of Włodzimierz Tetmajer declared by the Senate at the initiative of the Historical Museum of the City of Kraków. The park was opened on 22 June 2024 during the "Sobótka Bronowicka" picnic. The woodland playground has wooden houses imitating Bronowice cottages, surrounded by hollyhocks, peonies and rudbeckias, and the white fences with blue patterns refer to folk art and to the work of the park's patron.
Did you know?
Before the park was built, the pond on Tetmajera Street was closed to the public, because it was leased by the Polish Angling Association. In the new park jetties were built over the water, and a sensory garden was laid out next to the pond.
