History
This 2.9-hectare park adjoins Redoubt Fort No. 7 "Za Rzeką", part of Kraków Fortress. The fort was built in 1857-1865 on the site of a redoubt from 1854. For a long time it belonged to the army and was used as a store, and since 13 September 2021 it has been owned by the University of the National Education Commission. The city took over the land around the fort in 2018: the fence was removed, benches were installed and a colourful wildflower meadow was sown. Residents had long been asking for more, so thanks to civic budget projects the park gained an outdoor gym, sun loungers, hammocks, lighting, new paths and a playground. It is bordered on one side by Rodakowskiego Street and on the other by the Kraków-Katowice railway line.
