Garden by the Sudół Park
Explorer of Kraków's Parks · no. 9
Park type: water. In this park you can collect a stamp in the "Explorer of Kraków's Parks" campaign run by Kraków's Municipal Greenery Authority (ZZM).
History
The Garden by the Sudół was created as part of the Kraków Residents' Gardens series of pocket parks, on Naczelna Street, beside the Sudół Dominikański stream in Prądnik Czerwony. The land for the garden was handed over to the Municipal Greenery Authority by the Municipal Social Welfare Centre. In its design, the Authority's design team referred to the history of the area, linked to the farm estates of the Dominican order. The plot already had old trees and fruit trees left from former orchards. The garden opened on 1 April 2021. It is divided into zones: an English garden by the stream, a formal area in the middle, an orchard, an arboretum, rose beds laid out like farm plots, and a playground in the style of a village farmyard.

The garden's showpiece is the bronze sculpture "Paw" (Peacock), the work of the sculptor Chromy, a Kraków artist and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts. It stands in the southern part of the park.
