Węgrzynowice Park

Explorer of Kraków's Parks · no. 68

Park type: water. In this park you can collect a stamp in the "Explorer of Kraków's Parks" campaign run by Kraków's Municipal Greenery Authority (ZZM).

History

Węgrzynowice Park covers 5.19 ha on Węgrzynowicka Street, in the Wzgórza Krzesławickie district. The new layout was fitted into the existing greenery, keeping disturbance to natural habitats to a minimum. The backbone of the park is a raised boardwalk, from which an educational and recreational path leads off, linking a small pond, play areas and viewpoints in places of particular natural value.

The play areas have nature themes, and the centre of the fun is Beaver Square with its wooden obstacles. The needs of people with disabilities have been taken into account. The next stage of work includes plans for an educational and catering pavilion with a café, a multi-purpose room and a terrace overlooking the Węgrzynowice nature area.

Did you know?

Here play teaches you about nature: you can jump on the trampolines like a common frog, the zip line lets you feel like an insect flying over the meadows, and by following the grass snake trail the youngest visitors learn how hard life is for legless reptiles.
