History
The Photographer Dragon stands by the MuFo Museum of Photography at Rakowicka Street 22A. His camera recalls the days of long exposures, when the photographer would coax the youngest customers: "Look here, a little birdie is about to fly out!". And a little bird really does fly out of the dragon's camera. The museum building was once part of a complex of artillery warehouses with an arsenal known as the Cekhauz, built behind the forts of Kraków Fortress in 1882-1892. After 1918 it was taken over by the Polish Army, and after the Second World War it housed the Military Armament Works. It has belonged to the city since 2016, and after renovation in 2021 the museum moved in.
Did you know?
For many years this was a place that could not be photographed, because it housed an important military facility.
