The doctor dragon stands on Kopernika Street, in front of the former surgery clinic of the Jagiellonian University.
History
The Doctor Dragon stands at Kopernika Street 40, in front of the entrance to the 1st Department and Clinic of Surgery of the former University Hospital. He wears a stethoscope and recalls the history of the hospital complex in Wesoła and the story of medicine in Kraków. For decades Kopernika Street was associated with the university clinics and the Collegium Medicum. The buildings went up from the 19th century onwards, and the complex kept growing until most of it was moved to the new University Hospital in Prokocim. The site of the former buildings is to become the Wesoła cultural complex, with a building for Biblioteka Kraków.
