History
The Tourist Dragon waits at the entrance to Wojciech Bednarski Park, camera in paw, ready to capture the beauty of Podgórze. The park covers 9.2 ha of the summit area of Krzemionki Podgórskie and was created on the initiative of the Podgórze community activist Wojciech Bednarski (1841-1914). It opened in 1896 as the first park on reclaimed post-industrial land. Between the wars it was extended to include a former quarry with high limestone walls, known as "Twardowski's school". According to legend, the sorcerer had his alchemy workshop there.
