Mural, Stare Miasto district. A mural is a large painting made directly on the wall of a building.
History
In 2023 a mural with a portrait of Andrzej "Pudel" Bieniasz, a Kraków musician, guitarist, composer and lyricist, appeared at Koletek Street 8. It was designed by Dagmara Matuszak and painted by Dr Marcin Czaja, on the initiative of the artist's sister, Iwona Dobrowolska.
Bieniasz was born in Kraków in 1954, and it was here that he went to secondary school and studied. In 1981, together with the poet Piotr Marek and Andrzej Potoczek, he founded the band Düpą, and after 1985 his artistic path was Püdelsi. He died in 2021 in Krynica-Zdrój and was buried in Rakowicki Cemetery.
Did you know?
Püdelsi were prizewinners at the Jarocin festival in 1986, and their 2003 album "Wolność słowa" (Freedom of Speech) went gold.
