Bocian biały

Kraków Murals

Mural in the Bieżanów-Prokocim district showing a bird species (Polish name: Bocian biały). It is one of about a dozen bird murals in this area. A mural is a large painting made directly on the wall of a building.

History

The White Stork is one of the bird murals on the gable walls of the blocks of flats on the Na Kozłówce Housing Cooperative estate. It appeared in June 2019 on the building at 2 Wlotowa Street. It was painted by Wojciech Rokosz, a painter and graduate of the Kraków Academy of Fine Arts. It was the third picture in the "Birds" series, which had been opened a year earlier by a green woodpecker. The pictures are created when the gable walls are renovated, and seven were added in 2019 alone. The cooperative wrote that the stork might bring the residents of the building a little one.
