Myszołów zwyczajny
Kraków Murals
Mural in the Bieżanów-Prokocim district showing a bird species (Polish name: Myszołów zwyczajny). It is one of about a dozen bird murals in this area. A mural is a large painting made directly on the wall of a building.
History
The Common Buzzard is one of the 2021 murals on the gable wall of the block at Na Kozłówce Street 2 on the Na Kozłówce estate. At the same address there is also an earlier painting from the series, a green woodpecker from 2018. In 2021 a waxwing, a blue tit and a nuthatch were also painted at Nowosądecka Street 21, 23 and 25, a starling at Nowosądecka Street 11 and a bearded reedling at Okólna Street 12. All the birds were painted by the artist Wojciech Rokosz. The buzzard towers over the whole flock - that is how the "Na Kozłówce" Housing Cooperative describes it.
Did you know?
The cooperative jokes that the buzzard is already looking for its next prey, and hopes it will not be the bearded reedling lying in wait on a tree branch at Okólna Street 12.
