History

Duchacki Park grew out of a landscape park beside a manor house complex from the early 19th century. The complex was created by converting a monastic farm of the Order of the Holy Spirit (the Duchacy), which already existed in the 15th century, and the ponds have survived from the old park. The city took over the site in December 2012, after efforts by the district council and local associations. The first part of the park was restored by December 2020, and the second opened on 29 July 2022. At that time the old granary was rebuilt and now houses public toilets, and the garden and orchard were recreated. Wooden decks were built over the ponds.

Did you know?

Wola Duchacka only became part of Kraków in 1941. The manor house that stood here was damaged in the fighting of the early 18th century, but it was rebuilt.
