Park type: standard. In this park you can collect a stamp in the "Explorer of Kraków's Parks" campaign run by Kraków's Municipal Greenery Authority (ZZM).

History

Kurdwanów Park, in the Podgórze Duchackie district on the Kurdwanów Nowy estate, was laid out at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s. It was created by the "Kurdwanów Nowy" Housing Cooperative, and it is the only park in Kraków founded by a housing cooperative. The cooperative owned the plots until 1999, and on 30 November 1999 it signed an agreement with the city: it gave up its perpetual usufruct on condition that a neighbourhood park would be created here. The park covers 6.59 ha. It was restored to a design by Gajda Architektura Krajobrazu in two stages, in 2022 and 2023. There is a sledging hill and an amphitheatre, and every year the "Jesień Kurdwanowska" (Kurdwanów Autumn) fair takes place here.

Did you know?

The community garden was created at the request of residents who wanted a place to grow things between the blocks of flats. The plants grow in raised beds, and the garden has running water.
