History

The park is part of the palace and park complex in Prokocim, which is listed in the register of historic monuments. It began as an Italian garden by the Wodzicki family's 18th-century manor house, and in 1810 Józef Wodzicki laid out an English park here. In 1895 the estate was bought by Erazm Jerzmanowski. The park was then surrounded by an openwork brick wall, an orangery was built, and a stream feeding three fish ponds was led through the grounds. After Erazm's death and the sale of the estate to the Augustinians, the park was gradually turned into a public one, and in 1966 the ponds and streams were filled in. The park was named after Erazm Jerzmanowski in 1991, and its revitalisation was completed in September 2020.

Did you know?

One of the park's two fountains, from the 1960s and designed by Prof. Wiktor Zin, originally stood in the Main Market Square. It was later dismantled and put into storage, and after renovation it returned to public space right here.
