Pilot Gen. S. Skalski Park
Explorer of Kraków's Parks · no. 57
Park type: standard. In this park you can collect a stamp in the "Explorer of Kraków's Parks" campaign run by Kraków's Municipal Greenery Authority (ZZM).
History
The park covers almost 5 ha on the Dywizjonu 303 estate in Czyżyny. Until 1963 this land belonged to the Kraków-Rakowice-Czyżyny Airfield, and at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s the Czyżyny housing estates began to be built on the former airfield. By a resolution of Kraków City Council of 26 September 2007 the park was named after Stanisław Skalski, an airman with the rank of brigadier general who fought in the Second World War, including in the Battle of Britain. Czyżyny's aviation traditions are recalled by a playground with wooden structures shaped like aeroplanes. Residents sometimes call the park the Lungs of Czyżyny.

In the western part of the park there is an artesian deep well with drinking water, hidden in a square pavilion with a pyramid-shaped roof. Next to the flower meadow stand a bumblebee house and an insect hotel.
