History

Stacja Wisła Park covers 1.44 ha and lies in Zabłocie, between Bulwar Lotników Alianckich and Zabłocie Street. Until 2002 the Kraków Wisła railway station stood here, and after it was closed the site became an informal car park. The designers kept the existing trees and highlighted the remains of the railway infrastructure. Construction began on 27 December 2016, and the park officially opened on 11 May 2018. It is divided into twelve functional zones, including a history zone, a maze, a flower meadow and an urban farm with wooden raised beds for growing fruit and vegetables. There is also a stage with a dance floor and a pavilion with food outlets and a toilet. The steel and wood used for most of the features are meant to refer to the site's past.
