History

Płaszów Garden River Park covers 9.27 ha and lies in Podgórze, between Myśliwska, Nowohucka, Lasówka, Koszykarska and Gumniska Streets. Work on creating it began in 2005 with a spatial concept, and four years later a detailed design for the three phases of the project was drawn up. Planning permission was obtained in 2010. The first phase created footpaths and a children's play area, and later a car park by Primary School No. 47 and lighting were added. In 2023 the green space was modernised: new paths, a basketball court and an educational trail with information boards were laid out. Kraków City Council adopted the park's official name, rules and boundaries by a resolution of 6 March 2024.
